A cloakroom is the perfect place to be bold, and here I wanted the pattern to do the talking. The walls above are dressed in Coordonné's 'Huipil', a painterly striped wallpaper in blue, ochre and coral that brings warmth and movement to a small, easily overlooked space. To keep it from feeling too busy, I balanced the pattern with handmade white metro tiles laid in a brick bond and finished with an ultramarine Victoria border tile that draws out the blues above. A classic Burlington basin with an integrated towel rail sits beneath a nickel-framed oval mirror, with a teardrop opaline wall light adding a soft, period glow. Subtle navy and black tiled flooring underfoot grounds the scheme.
